YICTE
Yesterday the G(A)SP team attended the Young ICT Explorers (YICTE) event held at ANU. It was great seeing all kinds of ICT projects from around the ACT from all different ages, ranging from year 3 to year 12.
We received 1st place with our G(A)SP submission, showcasing the rocket we used to test components with, the simulator we created to test our code with, prototypes of the case, a semi-functioning rudder and the board (which we received on Wednesday), as well as this blog of course. We displayed posters with our launch date and talked to many people throughout the day, some who asked about the project and some who were very keen on our box of lollies.
Preparing for YICTE gave us a checkpoint in the project to work towards. It also aligned with due dates in both mechatronics and IT. Knowing these dates early in the project ensured that we worked hard to get prototypes ready by this point and it certainly paid off.
Thank you to all those who attended and that we talked to throughout the day, as well as the other students and our teacher who helped us get there. It was a rewarding event for us and we hope you enjoyed it too.
It was interesting talking to so many different people and gaining new ideas from each project. Hopefully the future of G(A)SP will be just as successful as our day at YICTE was.
Cool blog.
